ever read news or have frens that paid thousands of dollars to go overseas and do charity works(or volunteering if you like an alternative term)? you know, stuffs like go to a poor village in vietnam/cambodia to build schools/homes.
personally, i think there's better way to spend the $.
some actually went there and did nothing much. one of my sis frens actually went on one of those trips and all she ever did was passing the tools around.
"hey, i need some nails."
"yo, can you pass me the hammer?"
fools. there're better ways to get personal gratifications.
for examples, they could donate the $ to a fund and get some professionals in that country to build the buildings faster and more efficiently (instead of going there and make a fool of themselves). if they really want to get their hands dirty, i'm pretty sure there's a lot of places here where they could use some volunteers.
in case you have yet to realize it, i'm pretty cynical.
and i'm proud of it.
Are you vicariously living through me in the hope that my accomplishments will validate your mediocre life and in some way compensate for all of the opportnunities you botched?
