Are you vicariously living through me in the hope that my accomplishments will validate your mediocre life and in some way compensate for all of the opportnunities you botched?

went for a jog just now, was hoping to see some stars but too much light pollution...it's ok, i'm sure i'll catch some stars this friday.

someone or to be more accurate, a group paid me a visit today. a group of about 4-5 people came and the spokesperson pressed on my doorbell, asking for "mr mak". wow, so formal, wondered who she was as she sounded really cheerful.

it was them AGAIN. they belonged to a church group and this time, they were delivering some provisions to households. i declined their kind offer but they were so insistent. in the end, my mum gave in. they were mumbling about love lah, peace lah, you know, stuffs like that. my mum thanked them profusely and when they left, she said: "aiyah, we dont cook so often, give us rice for what, dont take also pai seh. since they take so much effort. it's ok lah, i bring the sack of rice to "fo tan" and let them cook..."

i find it rather amusing.

they never state which church they are from, i never bother to ask.

i'm pretty sure their intentions are good and they really go all out. with the SARS going round and people earning less. i'm sure the sack of rice do come in handy for the needy families...

BUT since i said i dont need the rice, they should give it to the more needy families. beside they should visit areas with a higher distribution of low income families like...like, u know, area with 1,2 or 3 rooms flats....oh, their church not in that area...

ok, i'm being an asshole here. i apologize to those who are offended. just my thoughts...just my thoughts...

oh, i mentioned they came before. on the previous occasion, they gave me a card which can be exchanged for a cake at the confectionery located below my block.

i threw the card away.
