about 2 days ago, the void deck wasn't that void after all.
on the way to my starting point (my usual night jogging), i passed by this rather isolated section of the void deck. unlike previously, i caught a rather shabbily dressed middle aged man sleeping on the cold concrete floor in a...in a "fetus-liked" position.
1st thought that ran across my mind. was he dead?
err...doesn't seem like it. he looked rather blissfully in sleep...
should i go over and check it out? you know, like the usual first aid procedure, tapped on the shoulder and ask if the person is alright.
what if i did that and he woken up from his sleep and then he lambasted at me "NB! CB! nin bei na zhe dao kun..."
so much for being worried about a stranger.
BUT...what if he really need medical attention? hardly anyone passed by that section of the void deck. what if he die? what i did then could make a difference.
guilt will overwhelmed me if i read the newspaper the next day and came across a heading " a middle aged man found dead at void deck".
after contemplating for a while...i noticed his face was rather red. red not from blushing, red not from the recent hot weather but red from drinking.
chey! i continued on my way but couples of what ifs and whys still ran across my mind...
me unfeeling? perhaps.
me callous? perhaps.
me simply bochap? perhaps.
but i'm sure i'm not the only one who will react this way.
Are you vicariously living through me in the hope that my accomplishments will validate your mediocre life and in some way compensate for all of the opportnunities you botched?
