the birdpark

i went to the birdpark last saturday.

i reckoned it's least 15 years since i last stepped into the place.

from my memory, some exhibits are still the same. (read: old)

some had been upgraded or in the process of upgrading.
...
i was looking at some macaws near the entrance when i overheard a boy saying...

dad, look at those birds, they are smiling.

yeah right.
...
there is a section on talking birds.

below each cage, there's a sign telling the viewers the bird's name and what it can say.

like hello, bye bye and ni hao ma.

i suspect they never change the sign even when the bird dies...
...
i saw 2 bird shows.

one was on the birds of predators and another was the all stars birds (or something like that).

as usual, volunteers were required.

in each show, when the host asked for a volunteer, hands would be raised from the audience.

in the first show, before the host had decided on who to call, a young girl shamelessly just walked up to him.

guess the host cant reject her now.

in the second show, same thing happened. a lady also shamelessly walked up to the host before he had decided who to call up.

both are tourists from india.
