i saw my ex employer again yesterday.
i'm back at his house to set up the OS and such.
his daughter was getting ready to go out.
where to? i asked.
my ex wife is picking her up. it's decided by the court.
...
his daughter is almost the spilting image of his ex wife.
i think it's a very painful reminder.
the odds were not in his favor, he had at most 30% of winning her custody...or so the lawer said.
one sentence uttered by his bro-in-law made him go all the way.
who do you think will give her a better life?
...
some friends asked him why?
as a guy and with a daughter, it's not easy.
stupid fools.
have they experienced love before?
...
when his business was doing well, he speculated in stocks.
the asian crisis came.
and cracks appeared in his marriage.
he was nearly made a bankcrupt.
more often than not, a man's downfall usually points to two factors.
greed and lust.
and they are not mutually exclusive.
...
i had a great talk with him at a coffeeshop over a bottle of stout.
one usually learnt from her/his mistakes.
and that's stupid.
one should not learn from her/his mistakes.
one should learn from other people's mistakes.
alas, one's mistakes usually have a much gentler learning curve than other people's mistakes.
Are you vicariously living through me in the hope that my accomplishments will validate your mediocre life and in some way compensate for all of the opportnunities you botched?

u're so right.
i really like wat u say about learning from other's mistake.
wished i was smarter.
I agree with you some what about learning from other's mistakes...
But in some cases, you won't learn anything unless you personally got thru it especially if its painful...
