singaporeans aint the only ones being ugly when travelling overseas.
due to low tourists count, the hotel i'd stayed in had to resort to cost saving measures. one noticeable measure is the absence of air con in public areas. there's no air con in the lobby, corridor and the restaurant. beside that, the pool and outdoor jacuzzi looked rather filthy and were in dire need of cleaning. the air con system was not maintained properly but with me was a fren who's in the air con business and he settled the it rather easily.
3 of us dont really have any grouse with the above measures. after all, the only time we were in hotel was to sleep. most of the time was spent outside sightseeing/shopping/pubbing. beside, we "fixed" the air con in our room. so there's really no need to stay at those 4/5 stars hotels, one seldom use the facilities anyway. a hotel with a decent room and decent security will do just fine for me.
on the day of the trip to phi phi island, we had a rather early breakfast at the restaurant as the transport would be there at around 0715. at around 7, one family of 4 walked in and among them, a lady started complaining about the air con and made a big deal about it, she called someone(i assume to be the person in charge of her tour) on the handphone to complain. she complained about the choice of breakfast. (no breakfast buffet due to the lack of tourists) when we reached phi phi island for lunch(yup, she's on the trip too), she complained about the food for buffet lunch. on the way back to the hotel, she was rambling off with another family. my frens and i was trying to get some rest but her ramblings really irritated us.
oh, people from china seems to have punctuality problem. 3 groups of people from the hotel went for the day trip, only my frens and i were early for the transport. we had to wait together with the driver for the other 2 chinese families for about 20 mins. beside that, they dont really like to queue...
Are you vicariously living through me in the hope that my accomplishments will validate your mediocre life and in some way compensate for all of the opportnunities you botched?
