i wonder if i'm the only idiot among the group who chose the modules because i'm interested in them or they are vital in my future career path.
no one is taking cryptography because it's difficult. this, i'd accepted because there's time for the fact to sink in. it's ok, i'll just dont take it since i wont be having any project partner(s).
actually, i was hopeful till sunday's night. i'd ask a DDP mate if he's taking the module and if he's interested in partnering with me. he's taking the module and i gave him till sunday to decide if he wanted to partner me for the project.
no fear has this t-shirt who has the following: do not play well with others.
i wonder if they have another with the following: do not work well with others.
perhaps i need to get the above mentioned t-shirt...why didn't he call me?
a friend called this morning just before the registration for modules. microprocessor is an easy subject and blah blah blah. advance network has a high failure rate and blah blah blah.
he called with good intention but my heart is sinking every second. i think he wont be taking the networking module and i suspect a few who had expressed an interest in taking the same module would be dropping it in favor of microprocessor.
how right i was.
i started to panic...damm, i cant take the cryptography module, dont tell me i cant take the networking module too.
actually, i can take the modules. it's just that i will not have any project partner and this is such an overwhelming negative factor for me. i did an project which required about 8 members, i did not take this module together with my friends because i had to retake a module and the timetable clashes.
so at the lab, the supervisor asked the class to form a project group of 8 members. i looked around, i knew no one. it's such a SUCKY feeling. everyone has their own clique. i really do not wish to experience it again.
luckily, a friend said he's still taking the networking module. wah, there's still hope in this world. we kinda make a promise, we will not drop the module.
but you know how the saying goes...promises are meant to be broken. or does the saying applies to "rules"?
anyway, to employ a little psychological warfare. if YOU bloody hell drop the module, i'll jump off from the first floor!
some of you might laugh...jump off from the first floor, aiyah, sure wont die one lah.
people who have the above thinking have obviously never been to NTU. i think it's the only place in singapore where you WILL die jumping from the 1st floor. the numbering of floors usually goes like this: b5, b4, b3...
you get the drift?
p.s hey, you can drop it later on if you wish. i promise i wont make a voodoo doll.
emotions aside, i can see from their perspectives. some of them have always gotten good grades, why jeopardize their chances of getting a 1st class or 2nd upper?
those with not so great grades, why risk the chance of failure? this is the last semester, they do not wish to stay back another semester.
i'd tasted failure before, it's a sucky feeling...but HELLO!!! have some faith in yourself. i have a fire burning inside me. feel my enthusiasm! you are a poly grad who had make it to the uni! you can do it!
ah, crap lah.
someone get me a fire extinguisher, the smoke is choking me...
Are you vicariously living through me in the hope that my accomplishments will validate your mediocre life and in some way compensate for all of the opportnunities you botched?
